C's take on the Knicks

Posted by shawn cassidy on October 13, 2012 at 4:10 PM

Well it's the first NBA team that the Celtics will play this preseason. It's a talented team gunning for the Celtics, but win or lose. This game means nothing in terms of actually meaning anything. It's about seeing guys like Sullinger, and Green progress. The starters won't play past 20 minutes, unless Doc wants to change things up, and give them more of a feel tonight against a real team.

What should we look for tonight?

  1. Who's Doc starting, nobody has an idea on who's starting when it comes to game one against the Heat. That game is  around two weeks away. So the next few games should give Doc a clear idea of who starts this season.
  2. How well do the Celtics rebound. The Knicks have Tyson Chandler, and Amare Stoudamire, and can the Celtics out rebound that duo? It means nothing tonight, but we can still get an idea of how well the Celtics rebound against a solid front court.
  3. How does the offense flow? Will the Celtics continue their hot shooting? The Celtics are always one of the best shooting teams in the league. But the question is how many more possessions can the Celtics get. The defense creates more touches, and passing the ball as a team, and executing quickly of course creates more time. So I want to see how many possessions the C's have tonight.
  4. I want to see the turnovers around 12 tonight, and that's with the second, and third unit playing the bulk of the game. The Celtics need to define who's playing behind Rondo to spare him some minutes. I think Doc already has an idea of what he'll do, and will probably see that during the season, and not now in the preseason. But the Celtics still need to have another plan in place if injuries creep up at some point.

Please share what your looking for tonight, and enjoy the game tonight.

Great idea, since he's the guy playing around 40 minutes a night. And the number one guy! Go Celtics!
