After trailing by 18 in the first half, the Celtics made this one a game. The Celtics hounded the Heat all night, and the C's eventually took a 84-82 lead in the 4th quarter. Down the stretch the Celtics couldn't make the shots that they needed to. Rondo went to the free throw line with 40 seconds to go with the Celtics down 90-86. As for Rondo, this wasn't his finest hour. He missed both free throws, and he was field goal less for the night shooting 0-of-8, and missing 3 of his 4 free throws.
The Celtics lost 93-86, but they did do their best, and it was just a poorly excuted game. Brandon Bass scored a team-high 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting over 18 minutes. Jared Sullinger (12 points, 11 rebounds) and Kris Humphries (14 points, 13 rebounds) both had double-doubles, while Chris Johnson scored 11 points in his Boston debut. The Celtics took advantage of the Heat's poor inside game, and that helped the Celtics stay close. The Celtics out rebounded the Heat 46-33. The Celtics had another cold shooting night, 39% from the field and 18% from three.
AB left Tuesday's game against the Heat after suffering a sprained right ankle. Bradley came up limping early in the second quarter after planting awkwardly on a defnsive play. The Celtics will get back to work tomorrow night against the Wizards.
