This was one of the hardest wins of the season for the Celtics, they were without Rondo Bradley, and they were coming off an emotional loss the night before against Miami. The Celtics came out rolling, putting up a 19 point lead in the first half, behind Pressey and Green. Speaking of Green had a season-high 39 points, and a career high 7 three-point bombs.
As the Wizards chipped away at the Celtics lead, Green seemingly hit big basket, after big basket. In the final minute the game was all tied up at 96, until Ariza nailed a three in the corner to give the Wizards a 99-96 lead. On the next play Jeff Green would hit a circus three-point shot to tie the game up at 99. The Celtics would see the ball again, and Jeff missed the three-point to give the Celtics a win, and the game went into OT, after Nene missed a jumper for the win the game went into overtime.
This was Boston's first overtime game of the season, and they didn't give up. The Celtics looked drained, but they hung on and won in overtime 113-111. Gerald Wallace hit the game winning basket with 2.5 remaining in the game. Pressey had a career night with 20 points and hitting 5 three-pointers. This was a much needed for everyone, it was nice to actually win won of these close games.
