The Kevin Durant-less Thunder picked apart Boston in the second half. The Celtics were in the game, trailing the Thunder 50-46 at the half. But the Thunder never looked back after out scoring Boston 27-13 in the third quarter. The Celtics wouldn't rally in this one at home, they lost 101-83 to OKC.
Jeff Green scored a team-high 16 points for Boston on 7-of-17 shooting (just 1-of-8 beyond the 3-point arc after hitting eight triples Wednesday night. Gerald Wallace (13 points) and Brandon Bass (11) were the only other Boston players in double figures for scoring. The Thunder shot 53.8 percent from the floor (43-of-80) overall, while the Celtics started hot and cooled in the second half, finishing at 42.7 percent (32-of-75) overall.
Rondo put in his 22 minutes, scoring 5 points, and dishing out 8 assists. He was still a step slow, but I continue to see an effort. The Celtics went 5-of-27 from three-point range, led by Jeff Green’s 1-of-8. He obviously lost his touch. Well, I know Sunday was circled on everyone's calendar. The Celtics will square off against the Nets. Should be a great day..
