The Heat take their first crack at the Mavs, and the Heat come out on top. I'm really surprised James didn't act like he won the title tonight after James celebrated like he won after the HEAT beat Boston.
Here are some key stats of the night.
Dallas did okay behind the three point line, but the issue could have been Miami making eleven 3's in game 1. The Mavericks took care of the basketball, and Miami couldn't take out the Heat. Dirk will need to rebound, and the Mavs will simply need to find who can help Dirk.
The Heat trailed by eight points early in the third quarter before pulling away, remaining unbeaten -- now 9-0 -- at home in these playoffs and snapping Dallas' five-game road postseason winning streak.
Both teams expect to ride defense in this series, and that was made perfectly evident in the opening 12 minutes. The teams combined to take 35 shots in the first quarter -- and made 10. The Heats defense was to good for the Mavs in game 1,and maybe for the entire series. Game two is a must win,but it seems like the Mavs know every game is a must win. At a point I thought the Mavs would come back and win this game. I seen it too many times from the Mavs. Down in the game, but down the stretch they would come back and win. The Mavs did a lot right in game 1,but they need to rebound the ball. Game Recap
